The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

THURSDAY'S PLAY
100*Dime Play on Florida*as a favorcte*against BYU.*As this play is releasted at*11:30*PM*Eastern on Wednesday night, the price of this game is generadly at*-3*points at the majority of books I checked in Las Vegas and offshore. There were a couple of 2 1/2's, but they were few and far between. However, I urge you to buy down the 1/2 point in this contest if you get Florida anywhere from -2 1/2 to -3 1/2. Don't believe in the half-point strategy? Remember one week ago today I failed to make the suggestion and we all lost a 50 Dime play on Temple -2 1/2 against Penn State as the Owls won by two after an improbable turn of events cost us all dearly in the final minute of play.

Pick 'n' roll: Thursday's best basketball bets

Minnesota Timberwolves at Dallas Mavericks (N/A)

Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle is trying to get his club ready for the playoffs with 12 games remaining, eight of which are against teams either holding down postseason spots or still in the race.

"We haven't beaten a good team lately, so we've got to get back to playing some defense, play our style of basketball, run up and down, get some good looks in transition,'' forward Dirk Nowitzki said. "I think the Golden State game was already a step forward in the right direction.

But Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves isn’t a contest that should push the Mavs much at this point in the season – especially with Kevin Love sitting out for Minnesota with a groin injury.

The other factor that weighs in here is that this is the team’s last game before it heads out on a tough, six-game road swing on the West Coast.

Be careful not to eat too much chalk before the Mavs really rev it up.

Pick: N/A

New Orleans Hornets at Utah Jazz (1.5, 191)

Chris Paul was on a crazy hot streak before he ran into the Boston Celtics on Saturday. After sitting out two games with a concussion earlier this month, he came back and averaged 28.7 points, 11.3 assists and 5.7 rebounds over the next three contests.

But against the Celtics, Paul went 0-for-9 from the field and finished with only four points in an 89-85 loss. To his credit, he did dish out 15 assists, though the Hornets are best when he’s a threat to score the ball every time he brings it up the floor.

"It's going to be hard for us to win if I play like that," Paul told reporters. "I don't have a stat guy on my shoulder during the game telling me what I'm shooting. I'm just going to keep shooting."

That’s the good news for Hornets bettors. Paul has been held without a field goal only four times in his career and you can bet he’ll bounce back with a big game against Utah.

Pick: Hornets

Ice Picks: Thursday's Best NHL Bets

Ottawa Senators at New York Rangers

Last season, despite Henrik Lunqvist’s best efforts, the New York Rangers missed out on a playoff berth when they lost in a shootout to the Philadelphia Flyers in the last game of the regular season.

This year, King Henrik is doing everything he can to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Lundqvist picked up his league-leading 10th shutout of the season Tuesday night in a 1-0 victory over the Florida Panthers which moved the Rangers three points ahead of eighth-place Buffalo in the Eastern Conference.

The Rangers are too sketchy to risk laying the heavy chalk in this matchup, but the under has solid value.

Pick: Under

Atlanta Thrashers at New York Islanders

You’d like to think the Atlanta Thrashers, who still have an outside shot at the playoffs, would be able to rebound from the 8-2 pounding they took from Buffalo last weekend.

They’re the kind of team that often says all the right things after tough losses and still doesn’t show up for the next date on the schedule.

Same old story. Atlanta got away with its terrible defensive play earlier this year thanks to its offense and power play, but that isn’t getting it done this time of year.

Meanwhile, this Islanders club looks to have a bright future and the kids are playing loose down the stretch.

Pick: Islanders

Pony picks: Thursday's best horse racing bets

After a fine run at The Parx and Mountaineer (with six winners in my last 10 picks) I'm almost reluctant to go back to the bigger circuits.

Thursday is sprinting day at Aqueduct. While I'm leaning toward two favorites and a 5-2 shot, the bigger handles should assure us at least even money on them all.

Aqueduct:
5th race: Barney's Bullet: Too fast for these
8th race: Devlish Spirit: Cohen and six furlongs seem to be the right formula for this one
9th race: Exley: They're giving this one away in $12,500 claiming race. It's now or never.

At Gulfstream I'm going with a pair of Nick Canani trainees. Canani is having a super meet winning 30 percent of his 53 mounts and hitting the board 38 times.
He's got a pair of stablemates running today, both get Lopez in the saddle and have recently been reclaimed.

One thing Canani has done well is bring back horses off long layoffs. While I never advocate betting horses which have been away for a long spell, both of these horses haven't raced since December but have worked several times.

Gulfstream:
3rd race: Clean Shot: Canani wins 31 percent of the time bringing horses back after 90 days.
9th race: Exclusive Strike: Won three of six on the turf.

Thursday's betting tips: SDSU-UConn spread flips

Lines to watch

San Diego State opened as a 1-point favorite against UConn but is now listed as a 1-point underdog.

Thursday’s BYU-Florida matchup has seen its total move to 149 after opening around 146.5.

Oddsmakers opened with a 144.5-point total in Arizona’s matchup with Duke before action moved the number to around 147.

Who’s hot

NCAAB: UConn has covered in each of its last seven games.

NCAAB: The over is 8-2 in Wisconsin’s last 10 games overall.

NBA: Dallas has played over the total in 19 of its last 27 contests.

NHL: Anaheim has won eight of its last 10 road games.

Who’s not

NCAAB: The under has cashed in only once in Florida’s last 10 games.

NBA: New Orleans is just 2-8 against the spread in its last 10 meetings with Utah.

NHL: Columbus has won just two of its last 13 contests.

Key stat

345 – The Wisconsin Badgers have been bombarded with questions about their “Wisconsin basketball” style of play over the past week, which has drawn the ire of coach Bo Ryan. But there’s no denying the team thrives with a controlled, tactical offense. According to kenpom.com, the Badgers rank 345th – or dead last – in the nation in adjusted tempo. The flip side to that is Wisconsin also turns the ball over less than any team in the country (7.5 per game) and the Badgers have actually played over the total in eight of their last 10 contests.

Injury that shouldn’t be overlooked

Kevin Parrom, Arizona Wildcats: Parrom was forced to sit down with a sprained ankle in Arizona’s win over Texas, but the Wildcats expect that he should be able to suit up against Duke on Thursday. “Kevin has made a lot of progress, and that's one positive thing," coach Sean Miller told reporters Wednesday. "He's worked tirelessly, around the clock, and Justin is a great trainer, and I believe that, just based on watching where he was and where he is that he will be able to play and be effective.” Just how effective he will be is the big questin – the sophomore, who connects at 41 percent from outside, had scored in double figures in four of five games leading up to the Tournament but is averaging just 6.5 points over the last two games.

Game of the day

Arizona Wildcats vs. Duke Blue Devils (-8.5, 147)

Notable quotable

"Our kids will be ready to play. They will not be in awe or intimidated by Kemba Walker, Jim Calhoun, the name Connecticut on the front of their jersey. … We're ready to play and we think, myself included, that we're the better team." – San Diego State coach Steve Fisher told XX Sports Radio in San Diego about his club’s matchup with the UConn Huskies on Thursday. Oddsmakers listed the Aztecs as a 1-point favorite before action flipped that number to UConn -1.

Notes and tips

Few players have had much success trying to keep BYU’s Jimmer Fredette in check with two good wheels, let alone one. That’s why Florida supporters have been anguishing over Kenny Boynton’s status after he sprained his ankle in Saturday’s win over UCLA. Boynton, who’s expected to be Florida’s primary defender lining up against Fredette, took a couple of days off and was able to participate fully in the team’s practice on Wednesday. The sophomore said he didn’t have any problems making his cuts or running at top speed, so that’s good news for the Gators, who are pegged as 3-point favorites.

Just when things looked like they couldn’t get much worse for the Minnesota Timberwolves, they got a whole lot worse. Forward Kevin Love is out for at least the next two games with a groin injury. The T-Wolves kick off a two game road swing in Utah on Thursday and have lost each of their last four, covering the number only once over that stretch. Love leads the team with 20.3 points and 15.3 rebounds per game.

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski isn’t going to throw freshman point guard Kyrie Irving back into the starting lineup just yet but did say that Irving would see “significant minutes” against Arizona. Whatever “significant minutes” exactly means in Coach K speak is anyone’s guess, but Irving has played right around 20 minutes in each of the team’s first two Tournament games, scoring 14 points in the opener and 11 against Michigan.

Connecticut –1½ over San Diego State

You take these teams like the Aztecs, that play in the non-power conferences and you really don’t know how good they are until they play some of the better teams in the country. So yeah, the Aztecs have compiled a 34-2 record but their two losses came against BYU, both by 13 points. They did beat BYU late in the season after Brandon Davies was suspended and the Cougars were making adjustments. Furthermore, the Aztecs two wins to get here came against North Colorado and Temple with the latter going into double OT. The Owls looked awful in that game. They had no energy and were running on fumes and a really good team would’ve blown them away. The Aztecs didn’t and now they’ll have to face a real team with a ton of confidence. All the Huskies have done over the past two weeks is beat everyone in their path en route to a Big East Championship and subsequent Sweet 16 appearance. They whacked Bucknell by 29 in what was supposed to be a “hangover” game and then put away the Bearcats in the second game by 11. UConn has reeled off seven in a row and they’re not done yet. They should dominate the boards in this game and they’ll play an Aztec team that struggles from the charity stripe and that is far too jump-shot oriented to beat this superior foe. Play: Connecticut –1½ (Risking 2.02 units to win 2).

Butler +4½ over Wisconsin

These two are mirror images of one another and if any team has an edge it’s the Bulldogs and not the Badgers as the line suggests. Butler has had a much tougher path to this point with wins over Old Dominion and Pitt while Wisconsin has beaten Belmont and K-State. Both teams play great defense and don’t turn the rock over often. They both have a big man that can score in the post and they both get great PG play. The total in this game is a very low 124, which suggests the teams are going to be around the 60-point mark and that’s another thing that makes the Bulldogs so appealing taking points. Wisconsin has some ugly offensive numbers this season and they also ranked 299th in the country in rebounding while the Bulldogs were 177th. It’s also worth noting that Butler is 15-3 in March over the last three seasons, they’ve won 11 in a row and they’ve been through all of this before and had success. Matt Howard, Zach Hahn, Shelvin Mack, Ronald Nored, Andrew Smith and Shawn Vanzant were all key contributors on last year's national runner-up. The Bulldogs are hugely undervalued here against an inferior Badger team. Play: Butler +4½ (Risking 2.02 units to win 2).

BYU +125 over Florida

Perhaps the Cougars have over-performed to this point but the way they wiped out a very solid Zags club cannot be ignored. BYU’s eight-point win over Wofford is also a flattering score to the loser, as the Terriers were down by 16 with about 2½ minutes to go in the game and hit two three’s in the game’s last 30 seconds. The Cougars knocked the Gators out of last year’s tourney and this year’s edition is better than last. This is not a one-man show either. Jimmer Fredette and his skill set needs no introduction. However, the “Jimmer” has a better surrounding cast this year, which includes the shooting ability of Jackson Emery, the low-post ability of junior forward Noah Hartsock and Charles Abouo's ability to score around the basket. The Gators played in a weak SEC. They lost twice to Kentucky down the stretch and they were blown out by Ohio State early in the year. So, while the Gators 28-7 overall record looks good, the fact is, they really didn’t have any real notable wins this entire year. Florida’s biggest wins came against Vandy and perhaps Xavier. The Gators strength is making three’s. That's fine if the shots are falling, not so good if they aren't. Also note that Kenny Boynton sprained his ankle in Saturday’s game against the Bruins. He’s scheduled to go but who knows how well it’ll hold up. Boynton is a willing and streaky shooter and when he gets on a roll he can carry the Gators. On a bum ankle he may not be able to carry them and frankly, we just don’t see the Cougars as being the inferior squad here. Play: BYU +125 (Risking 2 units).
